The magic of finding your ‘Path of Purpose’

Those of you who are coming to Forever’s Success Event this weekend in Glasgow will be lucky enough to hear Brian Mayne; some of you will be very familiar already with Brian’s work. Brian is passionate about human potential and has empowered thousands with his unique systems for success. I’m a huge fan of Brian’s methodology and I’m delighted to share his thinking here.

Life is a journey, and while there are many paths we each can take, it is when we find and follow ‘the thing that makes our heart sing’ that we find our ‘Path of Purpose’ and unleash our true power. Sometimes our passion and purpose in life is the work that we do. Other times our work and business are the vehicle that help us move towards and supports us in the things we are truly passionate about. Always our purpose is like a path because it is an ongoing journey we travel with no fixed end date.

Goals are slightly different to ‘purpose’ because goals do have specific achievement dates and are like milestones along our Path. Motivation springs from our reasons to walk our Path. Our attitudes or ‘ways of being’ are how we choose to take each step along our Path. Vision is our picture of promise we hold for walking our Path. In truth there are NO easy Paths in life, but if you find and follow your Path of Purpose; the thing that makes your heart sing, it make walking your Path easier and gives you greater power to face the difficult days rather than shying away.

When you find and follow the Path of your Purpose you go the extra mile, not because you ‘have to’ but because you want to. You learn more; not because you are expected to, but because you are genuinely interested. You give more; not because there is a bonus attached, but because you love what you do and want to share it as a gift with others. And, through the natural laws of creation, you find your flow more often and receive more as your reward. You will be happier, healthier, and in the truest sense, wealthier when you find and follow the Path of your Purpose; the thing that makes your heart sing.

Find your Purpose and unleash your Passion by asking yourself these 7 empowering questions

  1.  If you won £1 million pounds on the lottery what would you do differently in your life?
  2.  If you could create one change in the world what would it be?
  3.  What one quality of character, if fully developed, would most enrich your life?
  4.  If you could have any one skill or ability, what would it be?
  5.  What is it that gives you the most pleasure and satisfaction in life?
  6.  What legacy would you like to leave, how would you like to be remembered?
  7.  What one great thing would you dare to dream if you were guaranteed success?

Once you have asked and answered the questions, review your answers to check if you are living your life in alignment with you ‘heart-felt’ desires. The answers you give normally show an indication, direction, insight, or complete picture of your purpose.

If your answers are not in alignment with your life, it is important to look for ways to achieve a greater harmony. Quite simply, we are always most powerful and create our greatest results when we are ‘doing what we love’ or ‘doing what we do for love’ (i.e. have a strong reason or purpose.)

Sometimes pursuing our purpose may require us to physically make some changes, and sometimes the changes are mainly mental, and involve a gradual, thoughtful process of clarifying ‘why’ we are doing what we are doing. Clarity of purpose is the birthplace of inspiration and the root of motivation.
